Cycling in winter...

...which is all too often an imaginary exercise here in the north country. Recumbents are not given to the type of capacities we see in the Pugsley class, so many of us are still riding around on old MTBs, etc, while we count the days until the resurrection as it were. Those of us who have elected to place old machines on waivers, trade up, sell off, replace, or customize, must plod along at 10-12 mph, suffer the gladitorial primping of clothing layers, and hit the hot shower when we are back again. Thankfully, Ash Wednesday is behind us and anticipation is growing.

Planning has begun for the spring and summer re rallies, rides, tours, accommodations, breakfasts, and a return to the commute. Would that we could all be Texans or Californians at this time, but the faithful in Minnesota and Wisconsin are rewarded with better cycling once the earth tilts around to the greening of the northern hemisphere.

This was one of the last riding days before Thor's blanket arrived.
